On the basis of existing references this thesis tries to do an exploratory research into the clothing styles of Qiuci Dance. In the meanwhile, it classifies the Qiuci Dance into three categories, namely Palace Amusing Dance, Religious Sacrificing Dance, Social Life Dance. As for the palace amusing dance, it includes Huxuan Dance, Huteng Dance and Zhezhi Dance, which was the most common and magnificent kind of dance dress during the Sui and Tang Dynasties. The dress worn by the sculptures musicians excavated in many places tend to be the same, with steeple-crown, front-opening tight robe, long trousers and girdles. This is the Hu style whish was popular during the Sui and Tang Dynasties. The movements of Huteng Dance and Huxuab Dance are so similar that it is often quite difficult to distinguish the two. The research results indicate that we can tell the difference between Huxuan Dance and Huteng Dance from the following three perspectives, that is, the blanket, the gender of the dancers and the movements of leaping. Poets of the Tang Dynasty had a strong preference for Zhez Hi Dance, in whose eye the Zhezhi dancers are loudly dressed,Zhezhi Dance is very colorful, accompanied by soft music and graceful dance and is quite sweet and agreeable. During Zhezhi Dance performance, dancers with a custom made embroidered hat emerge from inside a lotus flower, and begins dancing to the beat of drums.Religious sacrificing dance is also called the Sumuzhe Dance, about whose origins people’s opinions vary from person to person. After some carful comparison, the author of thesis thinks that Sumuzhe Dance has its origin in Persia, and then spread to the Middle plains via Middle Asia Kang Guo and Qiuci. During a typical Sumuzhe Dance, the dancers, wearing a facial mask, sprinkle the audience with water. A Buddhist relicsbox unearthed in Zhaohuli Temple, Xingjiang on which painted some scenes of Sumuzhe Dance, where 21 dancers are dancing, with 8 of them wearing a facial mask. After some analysis and research, it can be concluded that the dancers’ dresses can be divided into three types. Of all the dancers, the dresses of the two flag-holders are the most sumptuous, and are described in every detail. Both the dancers’ and the two flag-holders’ clothing are characterized by a distinctive art style, while the musicians and the audience are simply dressed as the common Qiuci people do.Musical dances concerning social life are a kind of activity for people in Qiuci to entertain themselves. The dances include dance with tools and imitative dance, which is strongly religious. Most dancers wear valuable hats, have long hair, wear jewels, wear long towels and have no clothes on the upper body. However, Cave 76 and Cave 212 in Kezier have actresses wearing elegantly and uniquely with beautiful hairdressing and sexy clothes, which has strong artistic character and western style and which is different from traditional dressing. The country Quici lies in the important part of the west. Its culture was influenced by that of India, Persia and Greece, thus combining different cultures to form its unique culture. In Quici dance, people move their hands elegantly, quickly and openly. People have affection for this dance. The characteristics of Quici dance are the posture with three bends, various gestures and the vivid expression of moving heads and eyes. The dance gradually integrated into people’s life in Sui and Tang Dynasties, It was not only a way of daily entertainment, but also a spiritual medium for poets to express their feelings. There were no feasts without songs and people wouldn’t enjoy themselves without dances, laying the foundation for the historical position of Quici dance. |
