High silicon steel ultra thick strip containing about 6.5wt.%Si is the soft magnetic materials with low iron loss and high magnetic permeability, which has widespread application in the high-frequency transformers and motors, and can meet the requirements of energy saving and miniaturization in electronics. However, because of the inherent brittleness, it is difficulty to be prepared by conventional means. Currently, the ultra strip is only produced by the JFE steel corporation by the means of CVD.But this means brings out the problem of environment pollution and high cost, which limits the large-scale application of high silicon steel ultra thick strip.In present study, high silicon steel thin ultra thick strip with thickness between 0.10mm to 0.15mm was successfully produced by conventional method, including hot rolling, cold rolling and final annealing.The deformation texture of high silicon steel ultra thick strip along the thickness direction produced by one-stage rolling is composed of a and y texture, and cold rolling reduction has the apparent effects on texture gradient, intensity and peak position along thickness direction. At cold rolling reduction above 70%, the difference of deformation texture along the thickness is significant. On the 1/4 layer the texture is formed mainly by γ (<111>//ND){111}<110> at peak and a(<100>//RD)with uniform intensity from {001}<110>-{223}<110>. On 1/2 layer of thickness, the texture is composed of{111} <110> and{223}<110> at peak. At the reduction up to 92%, the difference of texture along the thickness decreases. Meantime, the 1/4 layer and 1/2 layer are mainly formed of{111} <110>with and {223}<110> at peak.The cold rolling reduction on recrystallization texture of high silicon steel ultra thick strip is apparent along the thickness direction produced by one-stage rolling. Below 70%, the intensity of recrystallization texture λ.(<001>//ND)and η(<001>//RD) is close.From 92% to 97%, the texture is composed of strong y and weak λ, and η.In the two-stage rolling, the deformation and recrystallization texture are apparently influenced by parameters of rolling process. Compared with the one-stage rolling, the intensity of y in the two-stage rolling process is weaken. The distribution of rolling has the significant affect on the texture evolution.The recrystallization texture of high silicon steel ultra thick strip is mainly formed of relatively strong γ and relatively weak λ and η with the grain growing up from 15μm to 95μm.
