Drill string heave compensation device is a vital part of the offshore drilling equipment. In the marine drilling, the floating drilling platform will be periodically up and down heave movement, because of the influence of sea wind, wave ect. The periodic heave movement will make the drill string produce reciprocating movement, leading to the change of drilling weight on bit, when this problem is serious, it will make drill bit break away from bottomhole, influence drilling efficiency, reduce service life of the drill bit and pipe, and give rise to drilling safety problems.In order to reduce the drilling accident rates and the drilling cost, and improve the efficiency of the drilling, it is necessary to adopt appropriate compensation measures for drill string heave movement in the offshore drilling operations, And adding the drill string heave compensation system is the main way to solve this problem.At present, the Heave compensation devices on offshore drilling are all need to imported from abroad, and the price is very high, therefore, further research and development of the heave compensation device of offshore rig with independent intellectual property rights has become an urgent affair, and it is also the inevitable demand of the deep sea technology equipment being constantly rejuvenation and maturity.On the basis of extensive research on heave compensation equipments at home and abroad, through the comparison and analysis of existing drill string heave compensation equipments’structure, working principle and application, this thesis thinks that, among all kinds of equipment such as crown block heave compensation equipment, traveling block hook heave compensation equipment, dead rope fast rope heave compensation equipment, active winch compensation equipment, the traveling block hook heave compensation equipment is the most widely applied one. This thesis takes the traveling block hook heave compensation equipment as the research object. The main work has been done as follows:(1)In this paper, the analysis and comparison of the working principle, advantages and disadvantages of passive, active and semi- active ride hook heave compensation equipments have been carried, propose a new compensation package——the rack and pinion heave compensation equipments is proposed and the mechanism of the equipments have been studied.(2)On the basis of studying the working mechanism of the new heave compensation devices, the design parameters are determined, as well as the important parts of the rack and pinion heave compensation equipments are designed and calculated, such as compensation cylinder, piston rods, rack and pinion, hydraulic systems, etc.(3)In this paper, through the establishment of a rack and pinion heave compensator device geometry, kinematics and dynamics model, using simulation software AMESim to build a rack and pinion heave compensator device of simulation model, the new heave compensator device movement, mechanical properties and working mechanism of the dynamic simulation analysis, and the heave compensator system compensation effect and energy-saving effect were analyzed, further validation of gear rack type string heave compensator device is feasible.(4)In the mechanism research and in the design foundation, this paper has designed a set of gear rack type heave compensator device of simulation test device for further improvement and optimization, a new compensation device provides experimental verification platform.In summary, based on extensive research at home and abroad the heave compensator device on the basis of the relevant literature, this paper puts forward a new rack and pinion heave compensator apparatus design scheme, completed its work mechanism and structure design, builds a system of geometry, kinematics and dynamics model, the completion of the system simulation, validation novel heave compensator device is feasible, to break foreign monopoly, implementing the heave compensator system’s manufacture domestically has important meaning.
