Natural gas pipeline construction is a significant measure to improve economic, release energy pressure and raise the people’s living standard. However, it could make a deeply influence on the ecological environmental situation in the construction region, when impoving the social economic efficiency at the meantime. To utilize the 3S technology to make the analysis on the ecological environmental landscape, the regional vegetation coverage and the outdoor project investigation, it can be concluded on the situation of the ecological landscape, the vegetation coverage and the ecological environmental pattern about the Zhongba-Dezhong natural gas pipeline project. The results indicated as follows:(1) In the study region, the forestland’s area accounted for 43% of the total ecological environmental landscape patterns’, and the cultivated land’s area accounted for 46%. Two kinds of the rate were nearly taken 90%in sum. It fully demonstrates that the pipeline construction region is placed in the Sichuan basin hilly area, which is characterized by the main landscape pattern of the cultivated land and the forestland. And two kinds of landscape patterns are obviously affected by the project construction. The influence trend by and large indicates that:In the ecological landscape pattern of the cultivated land, the dry field’s area is raised, but the paddy field’s is reduced; in a similar situation, the area of the shrub land and the open forest land is increased, but the area of the closed forest land is decreased.(2) To analysis the patch level of the ecological landscape, increased human activities have more and more effect on the landscape of the ecological environment in the study region for the pipeline project construction. The main landscape index of the patch style have a relative increasing than before the construction except the landscape index of the water area patch pattern. Based on the change about the ecological landscape level, SHDI and SHEI grew up but CONTAG fell down. Depend on the analysis about the different ecological environmental landscape level, the patch style of ecological landscape fell to pieces severely, and the landscape heterogeneity became more obvious but the landscape connection became weak. It is due to the pipeline project construction and the influence of human activity in the study region.(3) The area rate of each classified vegetation coverage take the whole area in the study region evenly. Depend on the space characteristic, each classified vegetation courage regions display the crossing distribution beside the pipeline. Moreover, the cultivated land and the forest land vegetation courage’s area rate is higher but others is relatively lower. Based on the statistical result of the different classified vegetation courage, the area of the middle and the highest classification vegetation coverage was evidently decreasing, but the area of the middle-low and the lowest one became increasing obviously, if comparing two time points, which were the project beginning and the project finish. Based on this, we can harvest the conculsion that the situation of the vegetation coverage, beside the project influence region, become lower for the human activities, especially the pipeline project construction.(4) In the study of the vegetation coverage buffer zone, the study area is equally divided by the boundaries which are at a distance of 250m,500m and 750m. Within the distance of 750m, the area’s rate of the different classified vegetation coverage is average in the all study region. However, comparing with the same classified vegetation coverage, the area’s rate of the above mid classified vegetation coverage become more but the other area’s rate become less, if the location of the buffer zone is near the pipeline. The study result shows that the pipeline project construction has less influence on the long-distance vegetation coverage situation than the near one.(5) Investigating the forest quadrat and the biomass in the study region, the project construction region is mainly forest ecological pattern in the basin area. There exsit to not be the huge forest land and the complicated vegetational types. The loss of the biomass was totally about 1969.68t in the project influential region for the project construction. After the project, the vegetational planting measure should be taken in the forest destructive area, to recover the loss of the biomass caused by the project and to restore the forest ecological environment.(6) During the process of the pipeline construction, the earthwork excavation work should be taken in the construction influential area. Although there is not the basic farmland taken in the project, the destruction on the soil structure and the loss of the soil nutrient should be caused in the pipeline affected region. Being statistics, the loss of the crops is totally 1504.44t in the process of the construction and 1128.33t in the process of the farmland recovery. To deal with this destruction, the farmland restoration measure should be used to recover the soil cultivated ability and the farmland ecological environment after the project.
