Research On The Design Of Helical Gears And The Simulation Of NC Machining

Helical gear is a kind of important mechanical transmission parts, which has the characteristics of low noise, stable transmission and high bearing load. It is widely used in mechanical transmission mechanism. So it is of important practical significance to improve the design accuracy, design efficiency and quality of CNC machining. Because of the low accuracy and long period of the traditional helical gear CAD design, and the process of the machining is not simulated, the preproduction usually is unstable. It makes the process will inevitably appear periodic long, and Pro/E software has the characteristics of high accuracy and high efficiency of design and numerical control machining simulation, which can greatly improve the design and machining efficiency of helical gears.。As the research object, the helical gear uses the advantages of Pro/E parametric design, adopting the design parameters and the relation basing on the helical gear, to make the helical gear involute tooth profile to create the whole body model, then using the feature modeling method of scanning and array to complete the whole helical gear. In numerical control processing, the paper uses the Pro/E manufacturing module. Point at the imported helical gear reference model, reasonably selecting the machine tools, cutting tools and processing methods and creating the NC processing sequence. And simulation of cutting tool path in each processing sequence is carried out, observing and analyzing of the rationality of the process. If it is reasonable, the creating CL data is post processed, and numerical control machining program of corresponding numerical control system is created by software.The method has important reference significance to design and manufacture other gear, such as straight gear, herringbone gear and bevel gear.
