Octane-number of gasoline products is a standard measure of the performance of an engine or aviation fuel, which plays a key role in distinguishing different grades of gasolines. Changqing Petroleum-Chemical Company is a type of fuel refiners whose products can be divided into No. 89, No. 90, No. 92, and No. 93 on the basis of the octane-number of gasoline products. The magnitude of octane-number is not only related to the quality of the final fuel products, but also related to the intermediates in production of gasoline products. Therefore, it is significant to rapidly and precisely measure the octane-number in gasolines. Currently, GB /T 5487-1995 method is the standard to measure octane-number, and the used equipment is from ASTM Company in United States. Although this method has the characteristics of high sensitivity and high accuracy, the cost of the instrument and maintainance fee is pretty high, as well as tedious sample preparation, which is favorable to the rapid determination of octane-number. So it is desirable to develop some high-efficienct and low-cost methods to measure the value.At present, there are many researches about the rapid detection of octane-number at home and abroad, of which the gas chromatographic method is favored by people because of its simple operation, less pollution; however, its use is restricted because of too many monomer hydrocarbon components and long sample analysis time. In the study, a fast gas chromatographic method is used to determine octane number in gasoline product of Changqing Petrochemical, which shortens the analysis time to 30 minutes. In this process, first, use gas chromatographic method to separate reformed gasoline(The octane-number of research method is between 95.6 and 92.2) of Changqing Petrochemical and obtain, monomer hydrocarbon through qualitative and quantitative analysis of monomer hydrocarbon, forming the report. According to the correlation between the composition of gasoline and octane number, the individual hydrocarbons are divided into 37 groups according to the number and structure of carbon, setting it as an independent variable to measure the octane number of the sample by octane number detector and setting it as a dependent variable, carrying out linear regression with partial least squares method, establishing the regression formula of mathematical model. Finally, the repeatability and accuracy of the regression formula are verified and it can accurately and reliably calculate the reformed gasoline octane number of Changqing Petrochemical, providing the analysis data for the adjustment of the production operation and the blending of finished gasoline in a timely and accurate manner.
