In this work, we investigate the potential function of metal-organic frameworks of ruthenium (Ru-MOF) in catalyst and try to synthesize a new types of composite catalyst by Ru-MOF precursor. The Ru-MOF as [Ru2Ⅱ,Ⅲ(BTC)2XxY1.5-x] (BTC=1,3,5-benzenetri-carboxylate, X, Y= Cl- or OH-) was hired to act as precuror and co-sythesize with montmorillonite by solvothermal reaction. The product (Ru-MOF-MMT) possess stable structure, and the Ru-MOF praticle equably disperse on the surface of montmorillonite. After reduction in 300℃ by H2, Montmorillonite loaded by Ru nanocrystals (Ru-MMT) was obtained. The sizes of Ru nanocrystals maintain in 1-2nm with orderly dispersion on the lamella of montmorillonite. the Ru-MMT catalyst with 5% content of Ru shows a high activity on the reaction of benzene hydrogenation. The turn-over frequency (TOF) of benzene hydrogenation reaches 3478 h-1 with a 99.9% yield in the condition of 160℃ and 6 MPa.The Ru-MMT catalyst is able to be reused at least five times without any de-activation. The characterization results reveal the partly collapsed ligand play a key roles on the protection of the Ru-MMT catalyst, and the unsaturated Ru sites could also benefit to the improvement of catalytic efficiency and cyclicity.Based on the experiment of synthesis of Ru-MOF-MMT and Ru-MMT, an universal method for synthesis of metal loaded catalyst had been put forward.
