With the localization, advanced technology and process engineering constantly improve of coke dry quenching equipment, coke dry quenching has been widely used in steel mills and coking plant in our country. It is gradually development of automation and large-scale, but it’s control system is a complex system, so the electrical equipment and control system must be equipped with high stability, reliability, especially in the control of drum water level and main steam temperature, its stability and reliability have important influence on the safe and economical of the whole system. It is a difficult problem in the control of drum level and main steam temperature in the industry, based on the difficult problem, some experts and technicians carry on in-depth study and put forward many advanced control strategies and improvement measures, such as, adaptive fuzzy control, state observers technology. To some extent, these strategies improve the control quality of the boiler control system, but these researches are far more enough, cannot completely meet the requirement of engineering industry development, therefore, the paper studies and optimizes the control system of coke dry quenching boiler, this provides theoretical foundation for practical application of engineering production.The paper firstly introduces the principle and process flow of coke dry quenching system, then analyzes and optimizes the control system of coke dry quenching, focuses on the study and optimization of main steam temperature control system, based on the analysis and comparison dynamic characteristics and control methods of drum water level, then concluded that the cascade three parameters control method can better overcome the false water level phenomenon of drum water level, has good control quality. By the study of main steam temperature control problem under different load, the paper finds that the load changes, the transfer function of the main steam temperature due to water changes a lot with nonlinear character, so adopting fixed parameter controller can’t meet the requirements of the engineering under other loads. So that the writer proposes PID cascade control scheme based on BP neural network, with the ability to approximate arbitrary nonlinear function and adaptability, neural network obtains the best combination among PID controller’s parameters through learning on system and the adjustment of weighting efficient, realize adaptive control under different load condition. In order to explain the better control quality provided by the paper, the paper dose MATLAB simulation, simulation results show that the proposed method has good control quality and antijamming capability, the control effect is better.
