At present,the coke dry quenching(CDQ) is a widely used an energy-saving technology in foreign countries. The principle of coke dry quenching technology is the use of inert gas cold, heat exchange in coke dry quenching furnacewith red coke. Inert gas absorbs red coke heat and exchanging heat with the refrigerant water to produce steam by CDQ boiler. The cooled inert gas is blown into CDQ boiler to cooling the red coke by circulating fan. The steam generated by CDQ boiler can be used for power generation. Along with the sustainable development of social economy of our country gradually, more and more high to controlenvironmental pollution and reduce the cost of production.In this context, the CDQ technology has been developing rapidly in china.The scale of the two phase of the project for the annual production capacity of 2000000 tons of coke in Fengmei coking company. It uses the wet coke quenching process. A large number of harmful gases generated during the process of coke quenching of serious corrosion of equipment and air pollution around. In order to improve the production environment, the response policy of national cleaner production, the full implementation of clean and civilized production, from the energy saving and environmental protection, recovery ofsensible heat, improving coke quality and multiple use weak caking coal perspective, the company decided to wetcoke quenching process instead of coke dry quenching technology.This paper mainly introduces the development status of CDQ principle, development trend, technology at home. And compared with the wet coke quenching, coke dry quenching technology has obvious advantage in energy saving and environmental protection and improve the quality of coke, worthy of promotion.The results showed:(1) recovering the energy of the cokeThe energy of coke accounted for about 35%~40% of the energy consumption of coke oven. This part of the energy equivalent of coking coal energy 5%. If the recovery and utilization of this part of the energy for metallurgical products, not only cost is greatly reduced, but also play a role in energy saving. CDQ technology can recovery 80% of red coke sensible heat. 1 tons of coke can be produced 5.1MPa, 480℃ 0.5-0.6 tons of steam,only 0.51 tons in fact.(2) To reduce the pollution of the environment1 ton of coke to the atmosphere evaporation of 0.5~0.6 tons of waste gas by wet coke quenching.The Gas containing large amounts of phenol, cyanide, sulfide and dust. That seriously polluted the atmosphere and surrounding environment. That accounted for 1/3 of coking pollution to the environment, and it is difficult to find a better method of governance. CDQ is the use of an inert gas, turn off the red coke in a closed system, and equipped with a good dust removal facilities, basically do not pollute the environment.The steam produced by CDQ for electricity generation or production of methanol.It reduce the pollution of the atmospheric from boiler and reduce SO2, CO2 to the atmosphere In particular.(3) Improving the quality of cokeCoke dry quenching can make coke M40 improve 3%-8%, M10 increased 0.3-0.8%, thermal reaction of the reduced 10%-13%. Under the coke quality guaranteed, coke dry quenching technology can reduce the coking coal, fat coal addingamount of 10-20%, more 10-20% weakly caking coal. That is conducive to saving resources and reducing coke production costs.
