In recent years, with the social and economic continues to develop, people’s living standards and consumption levels soaring, and their demand for livestock products continues to increase, making China’s livestock and poultry farming has been rapidly developed. At the same time, It also led to a large number of livestock and poultry manure production, causing serious pollution. Vermicomposting technology is an ancient and new biological treatment technology, this method has many advantages, such as low energy consumption, less secondary pollution, high environmental and economic benefits. Therefor vermicomposting technology on manure treatment has become the focus of attention of many scholars. This article describes the earthworm’s overview, the mechanism and advantages of vermicomposting technology.According to the investigation of livestock manure emissions in Sichuan Province sustainable development experimental zone, and ultimately determine to use chicken manure as the research object, By vermicomposting technology for processing chicken manure to achieve a resource. We through the experiment studied earthworm’s reproduction and growth, in chicken manure, under the different temperature, humidity and inoculum density, We also studied the earthworm’s growth and the chemical properties changes of chicken manure bait during vermicomposting process. Through the data analysis, we got the environment conditions that suitable for earthworm’s growth and the technology parameters of vermicomposting process. The results showed that in 20℃~25℃ temperature range, earthworms have a higher growth rate and reproduction rate, which the highest growth rate appears in bait JY2/3, its reproduction rate= 0.111d-1, the highest reproduction rate appears in bait JY1/1, the value equal 0.129d-1. The optimum humidity for earthworm growth and reproduction was 65%-70%, when humidity less than 55% nor more than 80%, earthworm is not easy to survive, will be dead or did not producing cocoon. In this test, the maximum growth rate and reproduction rate of earthworm appeared in JY1/1 bait, respectively equal 0.094d-1,0.163d-1. The best earthworm inoculation density is 10~12bar/500g bait, in this density, the earthworm’s total biomass, growth rate, reproduction rate and the number of cocoon production are maintained at a large value. In the same conditions, the earthworm’s reproduction and growth situation in chicken manure and straw mixture bait (JY2/3, JY1/1, JY3/2) is better than that the chicken manure bait(JF6, jf12, JF24), This is due to the addition of corn straw, increasing the C content in bait, the C/N ratio increased, It is more conducive for earthworm growth and reproduction.Vermicomposting experiment found that earthworm’s activity can promote the the pH of the bait to the acidic direction of change; promoting the decomposition of organic carbon, so that its content is reduced; to improve the content of C, N, P and other nutrients. On variation range, available state element content was significantly higher than the all elements content. By comparing the content variation between different elements, we founded that the variation range of organic the second was the total nitrogen, the total phosphorus was the smallest, the growth variation of available nitrogen and available phosphorus was significantly higher than available potassium. Through the comprehensive analysis of the earthworm biomass, growth rate and the changes of bait’s nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other elements content, during the vermicomposting of chicken manure process, we found that the composting time to 90 days is appropriate.
