Bulk amorphous alloy has the high hardness, low melting point, brittleness, high strength, high corrosion resistance and other excellent performance, which became a hot issue and aroused the attention in many industrial areas especially represented by watches, wristband, mobile phones and other consumer electronics, which are studying to use the amorphous alloy to improve their products performance and life span. At present, the preparation of bulk amorphous alloy products (short as amorphous product)is given priority to with mold die casting technology and the first step of product processing is to separate the outlet and the products. Due to its high hardness and brittleness, the traditional machining already cannot meet its cutting production requirement. Laser cutting technique has the characteristics of non-contact, high efficiency, no tool wearing and no pollution, etc. and become the preferred processing method of the bulk amorphous alloy cutting.Laser cutting is a complicated process and has many affecting factors including laser power, cutting velocity, pulse frequency and auxiliary gas pressure and so on, which directly affects the quality of the cutting. In the enterprises’cutting processure,the selection of the process parameters often conducts through blind test that increase the cost and low efficiency. At present, about the research on laser cutting of bulk amorphous alloy, there’s seldom reported at home and abroad. Thus, to conduct the study on laser cutting properties of bulk amorphous alloy has a direct practical significance. The project to a certain extent,can make up for the laser cutting theory and practice blank of bulk amorphous alloy.Based on the Zr-base amorphous alloy,the paper conducted a systematic theoretical and experimental research on the process parameters that affect the quality of laser cutting, which mainly includes the following aspects:1.Fiber Laser cutting experiment. Analyzed the influence of the process parameters of laser power,cutting speed,pulse frequency,duty ratio,gas pressure and the gap of the nozzle and material to conclude their influence law on cutting quality.And then guide the production operation.2.Built regression model of the bulk amorphous laser cutting quality. According to the experiment data to build the mathematical models of cutting seam,roughness and slag-length,and use these models to predicte the cutting quality.3.Put forward a theoretical design of supersonic nozzle to realize the purpose of no-slag cutting. It is found after the experiments and the production operations that the traditional laser cutting nozzle cannot achive no-slag cutting and thus,on the basis of the basice principle of aerodynamics,a supersonic nozzle geometric model was built through mathematical calculations and and analyzed the two kinds of models’jet flow field characteristecs by means of the CFD simulation software to verify its rationality.The research results has applied in "A Liquid metal co., LTD" in Dongguan city and abtained favourable result that improved the efficiency, saved the cost for the company and has certain academic and economic value.
