The explosive welding pipe products satisfy the military industry, petroleum pipeline, chemical industry, etc many needs, because it has obvious advantages such as low cost, high quality, no weld and no corrosion potential. But current domestic production of pipe explosion welding process parameters selection mostly refers to past experience, there is a great difference between different parameters, thus lead to the process of production and product research and development products is slow. The pipe explosion welding process using system, scientific research methods to study has very important significance.In this paper, nuclear power plant’s water coolant pipe is obtained by using the self-programming commonly used aluminum-steel pipe’s theory of explosive welding window parameter values and process parameter values, the Ansys/ls-dyna explicit dynamic analysis simulation software, parameters of explosion welding experiment under the different model for numerical simulation of the design and the aluminum-steel pipe explosion welding experiments were used. Under different parameters on the aluminum-steel pipe, the system of nondestructive testing, metallographic observation and mechanical performance testing were evaluated.The results show that the establishment of "explosive welding parameters calculation program for multiple tube" to calculate the guiding the experimental parameters. In numerical simulation, great plastic deformation and fluid phenomenon of bimetallic clad pipe happen in aluminum-steel pipe explosion welding process, and interface exists great plastic deformation. Excessive clearance will lead to bimetal composite pipes fly too fast, and compound aluminum snap too late deformation, resulting in a defect. An insufficient welding energy leads to the pipe end part layer defect. With charge thickness of 7 mm and clearance. height of 1.0 mm, the preparation technology is the best.To sum up, aluminum-steel explosive welding composite pipe is the example, the aluminum-steel pipe is successfully trial-produced. It is concluded that the best process parameter, the systemic explosion welding parameters are calculated, the welding experiment and numerical simulation research method are feasible. In this paper, the research results to improve and enhance the explosion welding pipe production and research work provides a new train of thought.
