Chenji Fault of Liuqiao No.l coal mine was set as the study object and the water conductivity and aquosity was researched on the basis of collecting the data of drilling and geophysical prospecting. The numeric model was established according to the geological condition and the numeric simulation was made as well as the mining effect of fault was researched, and the coal pillar was set finally. The main results follow:1. On the basis of analyzing the data of floor grouting holes of each working face and roadway passing fault as well as the water level of observing holes in both sides, the water conductivity and aquosity was researched, and the aquosity of Chenji Fault is weak as well as the water conductivity is bad.2. Numeric model was established with FLAC3D according to the analysis of geological condition of Chenji Fault zone. Numeric simulation of mining in the upper side alone, mining in the nether side alone, mining in the upper side firstly and mining in the nether side latterly, mining in the nether side firstly and mining in the upper side latterly was designed. The mining effect of fault in different mining orders was researched and the activation of fault was analyzed as well as it has been concluded that mining in the nether side firstly influences the mining effect of fault obviously and it is bad for the mining in the upper side.3. On the basis of numeric simulation research of mining effect of Chenji Fault, the setting of coal pillar of fault was researched by dividing the fault into bad water conductivity and good water conductivity, and the width of coal pillar was concluded.
