Nowadays we can find corrosion in everywhere, the problems caused be the corrosion in recent years have already gained widely attention. Havoc caused by the corrosion of the ships’equipment in the sea water has caused significant economic losses, and may even lead to a major accident. Using an anti-corrosion coatings is an effective way to reduce the corrosion of the metal surface, that is why a lot of effort has been taken to study this measure. Polyaniline is a new functional polymer materials, there is numerous advantage of ployaniline such as low cost, easy to synthesis, remarkable chemical and thermal stability, excellent corrosion resistance. Another main component of my coating is epoxy resin,which has a lot of merits like strong adhesion, wonderful chemical resistance, super abrasion resistant and so on. This study attempts to combine the properties of the two main component and prepare a composite coating with better resistance to the corrosion. During my research,i have prepared polyaniline-montmorillonite composite,different types of nonionic polyaniline emulsion and polyaniline micro emulsion.Then I successfully prepared kinds of functional coating by blending those emulsions with epoxy. Finally, i use tafel curve and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) as an evaluation of the anti-corrosion behavior of the coating on the steel, the coating is deposed in 3.5% sodium chloride solution.The main research results are as follows:In this paper I synthesize polyaniline-montmorillonite nanocomposite by the mechanochemical intercalation method.Also I use a range of different types of nonionic emulsifiers to synthesize polyaniline emulsion. In the meantime,i introduce n-butanol as co-emulsifier to synthesize polyaniline/DBSA/AEO9 micro emuls-ion. On this basis,polyaniline-montmorillonite nanocomposite, various types of polyaniline emulsions and polyaniline micro-emulsions are using as a main component respectively to blend with epoxy resin, and finally the preparation of different anti-corrosion coatings is down.Tafel curve and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy technique is used as a way to evaluate anti-corrosion performance of those coatings on the steel placed in 3.5% NaCl solution.The results showed that:all the products do have a significant impact on the corrosion resistance of the coating system, in which the coating contain polyaniline/DBSA/AEO9 micro emulsion has superb anti-corrosion effect. Besides,maybe the particle size of the coating system also has an important influence on the anti-corrosion result.For example the polyaniline/DBSA/AEO9 microemulsion by using n-butanol as a co-emulsifier is way better than the normal one,which not only has a smaller and a narrower particle size distribution, also a more effective anti-corrosion performance.
