Injection pump is the power plant for boosting oil polymer mother liquor, generally reciprocating plunger pump. For the purpose of maintain viscosity, improving the service life of polymer injection pump’s wearing pans and polymer injection pump’s volume efficiency, has analyzed the polymer’s flow characteristics by Flow Simulation and the large degradation of the viscosity of polymer solution caused by the mechanical shear with polymer injection pump in usage, on this basis, has come up with the improved program of polymer injection pump hydraulic end, by investigating the polymer injection pump usage in oilfield.Through improving the polymer injection pump’ hydraulic end of the piston rod, plug, inner flow passage, valve seat, valve core, spring, valve cover and gland etc. and the hydraulic port and valve components for optimal design. The polymer injection pump has the characteristics of compact structure, small size, high diversion and reliable performance. Field application: the polymer injection pump significantly improved the volume efficiency of the pump, reduce the mechanical degradation of the polymer by pump; the degradation rate of the improved pump is kept about 5.8%, and lower than percentage points of 1.6 by that the degradation rate of the general polymer pump is 7.4%; the volume efficiency of the before improved pump can be kept about 89.8%, and the volume efficiency of the improved pump can be kept about 95.7%, raising 5.9 percentage points.
