In recent years, aggregation-induced emission(AIE) phenomena have attracted increasing attention due to their unique fluorescent properties. AIE-active materials have been successfully prepared and extensively applied in various areas. Meanwhile, electrospinning is a versatile, economic and simple way to fabricate continuous nanofibers. In this study, AIE-active micro/nanofiber filaments were spun by drawing the collected non-woven nanofibers from the solution in which the reservoir collector was immersed. Due to the satisfied strength and excellent fluorescent performances, their broad applications could be expected in the stimulating areas, such as light emitting diodes, bio-probe, ion detector, etc.In this study, AIE-active polymethylmethacrylate(AIE-PMMA), AIE-active polystyrene(AIE-PS), polyamide 6/TPP-NI(PA6/TPP-NI) composite filaments were spun by using an electrospinning system and collected with a water bath from which the non-woven nanofibers were drawn out. The morphology, the fluorescent, mechanical properties were analyzed and evaluated. The results are as followed:1. Preparation and properties of AIE-PMMA micro fiber filaments. AIE-PMMA was added into dimethylacetamide(DMAC) to prepare spinning solution. AIE-PMMA microfiber filaments were spun by electrospinning system connected with a water-bath for sample collection. We found that the AIE-PMMA fibers have excellent fluorescent performances.2. Preparation and fluorescent property characterization of AIE-PS micro fiber filaments. PS and TPP-NI were added into the dimethylformamide(DMF) to prepare solution for electrospinning AIE-PS micro fibers. AIE-PS microfiber filaments were fabricated and collected with the same equipments as that in last section. that the as formed AIE-PS microfibers have excellent fluorescent performance.3. Preparation and property characterization of PA6/TPP-NI nanofiber filaments. PA6 was dissolved in Formic acid under vigorously stirring. Then TPP-NI was added into PA6 solution. The homogenous clear solutions with a light yellow color were obtained for electrospinning fluorescent fibers. The fluorescent PA6/TPP-NI nanofiber membranes/filaments were successfully prepared by using the electrospinning method bundling in the bath. The PA6/TPP-NI microfibers have excellent fluorescent performances and mechanical property.4. Study on the piezofluorochromic properties of the PA6/TPP-NI nanofiber filaments. The fibers exhibit excellent pressure-sensitivity. Due to outer pressure, fluorescence enhancement was induced by further molecular aggregation and the PL intensity dramatically increased. The pressure-sensitive fluorescent performance of the fibers may endow new perspectives to this study, and make it eligible for many practical applications.
