Pinacolone is an important intermediate in the production of pesticides, Pharmaceuticals, dyes and other fine chemical products, and it has great potential of application in the synthesis of triazole pesticides. At present,The method of synthesizing pinacolone by isopentenyl is adopted widely for its simple technology and available raw material, However the waste acid and tar produced by the reaction is difficult to treat. The synthesis of pinacolone is explored to find the best synthesis conditions. Besides, waste hydrochloric acid and tar produced during the synthesis of pinacolone is recycled and analyzed. The reaction factors such as reaction time, temperature and ratio of the raw material which influence the content of tert-amyl chlorine are optimized in this paper.92.25% yield of tert-amyl chloride can be reached under the conditions that continously heating up from 5℃ to 20℃ for 120 minutes and the ratio of isopentenyl and hydrochloric acid is 1:2.35.This research emphasizes on improving the synthesis process of pinacolone.Profound study had been carried out reaction time, temperature, dosage of hydrochloric acid and different catalysts. The optimum result is instilling formaldehyde solution into tert-amyl chloride in 240 minutes and catalyzed by hydrochloric acid and calcium chloride with the temperature elevating from 60℃ to 90℃,the purity of pinacolone could be 84.59%.Analysis of tar indicate that tar is the dimer products and derivatives of isopentel.Purification of waste hydrochloric acid was accomplished by adsorption method, using resin and activated carbon, and organic impurities in hydrogen chloride have been effectively removed.
