As the important source of drinking water reservoir of Shenzhen, water quality standard of Shiyan Reservoir concerns the health of residents who live along the reservoir area. In order to find out the key of controlling Shiyan Reservoir algae, and put forward the effective prevention and control measures, this paper select Shiyan Reservoir as the research object, systematically analysis the changes of water quality and algaein the reservoir area, and discusses the relationship between algae growthwith water level fluctuation and nutrients, to provide feasibility basis for regulating water control strategy of inhibiting the growth of algae. According to the EFDC model, which set up by the project group member, the paper simulate the feasibility of water level fluctuation optimization technology on algae control and the effect of the upstream water pollution load reduction on the growth of algae, to provide a reference basis for reservoir water environment daily management and algae control strategy formulation.Firstly, keeping Shiyan Reservoir running at high water level in abundant water period is better than alternating elevation to lower the water level and increasing water level stageby stage to control the growth of algae in the reservoir area. Keeping Shiyan Reservoir running at low water level during the dry seasoncan more effectively reduce the concentration of algae compared with alternating elevation to lower the water level and reducingwater level stageby stage. For reservoir managers, it is necessary to take different management measures in diff erent periods, in order to effectively improve the status of reservoir eutrophication.Secondly, reducing the ammonia nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen and green algae concentration of upstream has little effect on the growth of algae in the reservoir area. While reduce algae, diatoms and total phosphorus concentration of upstream only in the short term can effectively control the growth of algae in reservoir area. It is better for improving the water quality of Shiyan Reservoir inlet area to reduce the cyanobacteria and diatom biomass of upstream, while reduce total phosphorus concentration of upstream is more obviously better to improve the water quality of Shiyan Reservoir intake area. The upstream diversion of water pollution load of Shiyan Reservoir have a strong influence on algae pollution problem in a large number of outbreaks, which need managers pay more attention or take the necessary control measures. To promote the upstream watershed of Shiyan Reservoir Management and pollution load control i s a long-term measure to guarantee the safety of water environment of Shiyan ReservoirThe long-term measure to guarantee the safety of water environment of Shiyan Reservoir is to promote the upstream watershed management and pollution load control comprehensively.
