Assembly with robot automatically robot is to use robot instead of human to put the parts together. Robot can finish a variety of actions flexibility, especially for the repetitive movements in the assembly process. In traditionally small electronic product assembly, the assembly-line was performed by manual. Assembly line spent a lot of manpower, material resources, and was inefficiency.Therefore, the study of the application of industrial robots in the small electronic products assembly process is very necessary and important. In this paper, phone is an example to make further theoretical research (electronic products within the outer dimension size 100 mm × 100 mm× 20 mm) in automated assembly for small electronic products based on industrial robots. A brief introduction of the work done by this paper is as follows:1.Design of assembly cell of small electronic products. Three types of robot cell layout of small electronic products are introduced explicit;2.Control of assembly sequence. The rear cover of mobile phone assembly cell is used as an example to introduce the control of assembly sequence and the interlock. The error detection and recovery is introduced briefly.3. Cycle time and action analysis. The rear cover assembly cell of mobile phone is used as an example to introduce the RTM. This part introduce assembly operations, and propose a new mathematical expression method to express it.4.Design of assembly system configurations.The design and selection of assembly system configurations are studied, including:designing for robotic assembly, parts presentation methods, parts mating, parts-joining tasks, compliance.5.The analysis of mobile phone assembly.The relationship of the assembly precedence relation of the mobile phone is analyzed by priority relation matrix. According to the volume of mobile phone, types of assembly system configurations are designed, and the detail of the assembly cells in the assembly system are analyzed in detail. Finally, the cycle time of assembly system is analyzed.
