At present, the technological level of blade forging industry in our country still lags behind that of some foreign industries. Although some enterprises have the ability to do the blade precision forging, most of them still use the conventional technology. The blade forging design is a complex process which contains a large number of repetitive work and relies on technologist’s own skill. There is no standard and unified design standard for process residual block now. If intelligent technology is applied to the design of the blade forging, the product will be designed exactly and efficiently.This paper combines intelligent technology with the study of blade forging process residual block design methods and summarizes the experience and technology in enterprise. According to these, a general rule of blade forging process residual block design is proposed and the intelligent design system of blade forging process residual block is developed.First of all, background of the subject learning is described briefly. It analyzes the current forging molding technology and numerical simulation technology in the forging production. Research situation of forging CAD system is introduced. And the present development and application of intelligent technology are discussed here. The research direction of blade forging process residual block intelligent design technology is proposed and determined.Secondly, blade forging process characteristics is analyzed, and the design experience and technology is summarized. The parameters, knowledge, experience are integrated by way of analyzing the influence of the parting surface, connective structure and draft. The classified establishment of design rules makes the blade forging process residual block has universality and organization. Numerical simulation is used to simulate the blade forming. The design of process residual block to obtain the necessity of designing excess metal is analyzed. By orthogonal test, the way of design blade forging process residual block is analyzed to quantitatively discuss the transition and the draft angle of process residual block. Optimized parameters are received to improve the design quality.The architecture of intelligent design system is showed. To design the structure of blade forging process residual block intelligent design systems the advantage of intelligent expert system is analyzed. Classified modularization ideas which makes every design cycle and each kind of design have a corresponding design module, is raised to resolve the design content. A rule reasoning method based on extension relevance principle is raised after analyzing the knowledge type in the design of the product and studying the rules formulation of the knowledge about design process and design approach. The application of intelligent technology in design of blade forging process residual block is realized.Finally, it gives blade forging process residual block design intelligent system solutions. The intelligent system is developed by secondary development technology. An example is completed to verify the intelligent system.
