Study On Furniture Of The Illustration Of The Biography Of Virtous Women By Qiu Ying

Plenty of fine quality illustration books has been created in Ming dynasty,the golden age of Chinese illustration. The Biographies of Virtuous Women,the representative of illustration of Ming dynasty,illustrated by Qiu Ying who was among the Master Four of Ming dynasty,has huge research value.lt was completed in mid-late period of Ming dynasty and typical scenes of life depicted from the illustration reflected the furniture development situation in mid-late period of Ming dynasty, which showed us the furniture culture of mid-late period of Ming dynasty.This paper is based on the furniture historical materials in mid-late period of Ming dynasty,analyzes systematically the relevant situation of furniture and interior layout of The Biographies of Virtuous Women and uses the graphics software like AutoCAD and 3dsMax to conduct the typical furniture and interior scenes recovery drawing.The historical background and basic information of The Biographies of Virtuous Women are analyzed clearly from the forming background, structural conception,characters and biography of author in the part of overviews. Furtherly,the comparative analysis between The Biographies of Virtuous Women and the other twos has made to come to a conclusion that accordance of plot and difference of picture content are existed in three above. In the part of furniture research,"Realism"and"Impressionism",the two properties of the furniture are elaborated firstly. Statistics data of furniture is implemented and it suggests that there are 196 pictures concerned furniture and 496 pieces of furnitures, which are classified into "seat", "bedding", "supporting furniture", "storage furnitures","racks", "screens"by their function. It also indicated that there exist engraving and inlay of furniture decoration craft,get used to decorate furniture with auspicious pattern,plant motifs and landscape patterns. Following the overall spatial layout characteristics and furnishing rules are presented and the furnishings which include fabrics, decorative study objects and other furnishings.In the part of "recovery drawing",that graphics softwares like AutoCAD and 3dsMax are applied to draw three-views of furniture of The Biographies of Virtuous Women.
