Sheet metal forming, as one of the most common manufacturing method, plays an important role in modern industry. However, springback is inevitable in the forming process which makes the shape of sheet apart from the shape of die and affects the precision of product. If the bending process and springback in the sheet metal can be accurately predicted before bending, we can save time and cost in the stage of product design and improve the quality of product. This paper selects the V-shape as the study object, analyzes elastic-plastic deformation law and springback prediction of the V-shape bending process of sheet metal. This paper reviews study method of springback at home and aboard and present condition of sheet deforming springback control study from three aspects including theoretical analysis, experimental study and numerical simulation, compares the characteristic of three study methods, points out that using the numerical simulation to study springback problem is the mainstream trend, and analyzes the sheet metal forming process and the reason of springback. In this paper, the finite element analysis of nonlinear elastic-plastic problem is carried out and the solution method and solution steps of numerical simulation of sheet deforming are determined. Based on the ANSYS software, this paper simulates the forming and springback process of V-shape, analyzes the stress and strain evolution rule of V-shape in the deforming and springback process in detail, and sums up the relationship between springback angle of V-shape and punch downward distance and die open size. Also, it compares three cases of stress distribution of sheet deformation zone. This paper introduce theory calculation method of bending and springback of V-shape part, and compares the results between theory calculation and numerical simulation, and modify the theory formula to make the results obtained from formula consistent with numerical simulation. In the end, this paper studies the springback control of sheet forming, analyzes the springback control utilizing die surface compensation method and punch displacement control method with instances.
