Sheet metal forming numerical simulation is an intersect course including metal plastic forming technology, finite element technology, CAD. And it is a strong nonlinear problem including geometric nonlinear, material nonlinear and contact nonlinear. Sheet metal forming numerical simulation has got a rapid development since last decade because of the development of computer technology and finite element technology. Springback after sheet forming is a problem in many sheet forming technology, is had to be compensation in the stage of die design. Traditional method is trial-and-error, has large expenses in manpower and material resources. The process of trial-and-error is simplified if we could know the size of compensation before the die manufacture. Large manpower and material resources are saved. This is the problem that the thesis wants to solve. It causes the possibility that sheet metal forming numerical simulation based on finite element method. This thesis analyses the T.L. method and U.L. method of sheet forming FE simulation based on geometric nonlinear because sheet forming simulation is a geometric nonlinear problem. Establishes the virtual displacement equation of these two methods and finite element equation using for sheet metal forming simulation. Compares the good and bad between T.L. method and U.L. method, points out their applied limits.Nowaday, many finite element softwares are existence. Like ANSYS, ALGOR, MARC, I-DEAS etc.And many softwares built-in finite element block, like UG, Pro-E etc. The thesis introduces some major finite element software's characteristics, and according to the Sheet metal forming's characteristic. In the thesis, the sheet metal forming simulation realized in MARC.The thesis introduces the usage of MARC, and simulates the bending formed. In the thesis' end, conclude the bending angle' calculated formula.
