In recent years, the emulsion acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives are attracting great attention due to its water solvent, environmental protection, safety, energy saving and convenience operations. But their heat resistance is poor and the research of its luminescent material has not been reported yet.On the basis of this problem, the research progress and novel technology of high temperature resistant acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives and its Tb(III) coordinate complex are all fully introduced. And the experimental program are supplied, which use the 3-Methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(MPS) and octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane(D4)to enhance the thermal stability of acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives and prepare the green-emitting polymeric materials with Tb3+.The high temperature resistant acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives are synthesized by emulsion polymerization with Ethyl acrylate(EA), 2-ethylhexyl acrylate(2-EHA), acrylic acid(AA), 2-hydroxy ethyl acrylate(HEA) as the main acrylic monomers and MPS, D4 as the modified monomer. The emulsifier, initiator, organic silicon monomers, the reaction temperature and other factors are investigated. The results suggest that reaction temperature is 82 oC, pre-emulsified high-shear time is 15 min, the main monomer ratio of EA: 2-EHA = 37: 48, the ratio of emulsifier SDS: TX-10 = 1: 1, the total amount of emulsifier is 3% by mass, and amounts of initiator(APS), MPS and D4 are 0.5%, 1% and3-5%, respectively. And emulsion particle size and size distribution, infrared spectra,thermogravimetric analysis are characterized. The results show that silicon-containing monomers have successfully reacted with acrylic ester copolymer. The emulsion particle size is about 100 nm, and dispersed well. The initial thermal decomposition temperature(Td)of PSA film is measured about 402 oC.And then green-emitting pressure sensitive adhesives are prepared by adding rare earth terbium ions with green fluorescence properties to the base materials of hightemperature resistant acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives. The infrared spectra,photoluminescence excitation(PLE) and luminescence(PL) spectra and luminescence decay of this luminescent polymer were characterized. The results show that-COO from high temperature resistant pressure sensitive adhesives has successfully coordinated with the Tb3+. And the reaction product displays Tb(III) typical emission peaks at 489, 545, 583,and 622 nm under the excitation of 369 nm. It has high color purity and the CIE color coordinates are(x=0.300, y=0.543). The lifetime is calculated as short as 0.25 ms. The green-emitting pressure sensitive adhesives not only have good fluorescence properties,but also have a relatively high thermal stability and Td is measured as 420 oC. The influence of Tb3+ concentration and temperature on the fluorescence properties are investigated. And the optimum concentration of Tb3+ is determined as 0.7 mol/L.
