Water, the Source of Life, is also the material basis for human being and other species’ survival and development. Along with the rapid development of our economy, a large amount of domestic and industrial waste water is discharged into rivers, lakes and sea, which caused a series of water pollutions. These pollutions seriously affect the safety of human being and other species, and lead to the extinction of fish, shrimp as well as the destruction of regional ecological balance. So, rapid, accurate and real-time detection of ammonia nitrogen content in the water, for the control of water pollution, plays a very important role in avoiding ammonia nitrogen pollution emergencies. This paper mainly studied the characteristics of ammonia gas sensing electrode, the algorithm and the system design. The research results provide a reliable theoretical and technical basis for the water ammonia nitrogen monitoring system optimization and for the improvement of its performance. The specific research and achievements of this paper include:The algorithm study of the remote monitoring system of ammonia nitrogen. Aiming at the cumbersome measuring process and the relatively large measurement error, a control model based ammonia nitrogen measurement algorithm was put forward. And from the perspective of the theory, the measuring efficiency and accuracy was correspondingly improved.The mechanical and structure design of the remote ammonia nitrogen monitoring system measuring part. According to the requirement of the algorithm and chemical reaction, the polytetrafluoroethylene material container, the fan, the push-rod motor, the valve and the pump were selected to design and built the mechanical structure of the ammonia nitrogen monitoring system measuring part.The hardware design of the remote ammonia nitrogen monitoring system measuring part. The 16 bit microprocessor MC9S12XS128 of Freescale Semiconductor and other relative chips were selected to design the system circuit. The LCD tablet was selected as the human-computer interaction module. And finally, the RS232 to 485 interface module implements the communication function between the microcontroller and the tablets.The software design of the remote ammonia nitrogen monitoring system measuring part. The system software design adopts the intelligent programming method, including the slave and host computer software design. The slave and host computer software design uses C language and Visual C++ language, compiled and debugged respectively in CodeWarrior and VC6.0 integrated development environment.The experimental verification of the remote ammonia nitrogen monitoring system measuring part. In order to verify the validity and reliability of the control model based ammonia nitrogen measurement algorithm, three different algorithms were adopted to test the system. The test results show that the control model based ammonia nitrogen measurement algorithm demonstrates more simple measuring process and achieves higher measuring accuracy than the traditional algorithms. Therefore, the control model based ammonia nitrogen measurement algorithm and its system meet the requirements of remote ammonia nitrogen on-line detection.
