The Gantry Type Vertical Machine Tool Beam Of Casting Process In Three Field Coupling Simulation And Analysis

The quality of column, a basic component of machine tools, plays an important part in the accuracy of the whole system. As a significant technology of forming, gravity sand casting is a completely progress which involves in heat transferring, flow, metal melting and mechanics, as related to quality of the column. The column in the shape of -Gantry Type, which contains lots of ribs, is formed in one time, then the temperature Field is not uniform and it brings about Residual Stress. When the guide’s surface is processed by machine, as the Residual Stress reduce is limited by aging, the balance of the Residual Stress will be broken, which does affect the accuracy of the column. Therefore it is meaningful to calculate and analyze the Residual Stress in casting structure.Summarized others’ experience, with ProCAST based on FEM, this paper do some research about realizing 3-Ddynamic simulation of casting Flow Field, Temperature Field, and Stress Field, and build up numerical model under the conditions of current technology. Furthermore, a conclusion has been carried out that the vast majority of guide’s is in stretching.Firstly, the Paper describes the basic theories and FEM of Temperature Field, and Stress Field, and, in the molding process, utilizes the ProCASTS three field coupling function which adopts FEM directly. The Flow Field is allowed for when the temperature is analyzed. A bidirectional coupling whose Temperature Field effects on Stress Field is used in this process. Based on current technology and equipments, this paper builds up the numerical model using corresponding parameters, initial conditions and boundary conditions under the conditions of some assumes for which are brought by this paper and some simplifying of the model.Based on the casting Temperature Field and Stress Field, this paper gains some qualitative conclusions through the analysis of the Residual Stress Field. In the end, a small physical casting table is made with the same method to verify the rationality of the computer simulation.
