Research On Design And Application Of Dragon And Phoenix Patterns In Wedding Home Textiles

From ancient times to the present, wedding is one of the most important ceremony in everyone’s life. As the key component in wedding, the wedding textile products occupy a very important position. With the rapid development of today’s social economic, people’s purchasing power became much stronger and at the same time they paid more attention to the spiritual pursuit. This also promoted the diversified development of home textiles of wedding in China and provided a new burst of demand for the market of home textiles. People enjoy not only the use value of products but also the unique personalized and emotional values. As people’s artistic and emotional needs continuously improved, the products will faced a phenomenon that they lack of creativity, new design and cultural spiritual. The dragon and phoenix patterns, as the bearer of Chinese blood, shows the development and growth of the Chinese nation’s historical and cultural traditions. Its innate totem culture is different from the western original patterns’. Because of its unique artistic charm and beautiful meaning, the dragon and phoenix patterns is applied to many kinds of products.In view of the current research background, this paper takes the cultural return as the center, and combines with the related wedding products. And the paper using the literature analysis, survey analysis, case analysis and other methods to explore the new design ideas. Furthermore, According to research of the application of dragon and phoenix patterns in the wedding of home textiles, the paper find out a combination of the dragon phoenix pattern and wedding home textiles in both culture and customers’ need. Then we launched the research of dragon and phoenix patterns design in wedding home textiles. In addition, we put forward the design method and the design principle of innovation in color and material design while provide an application reference for other elements. Then, we verified the feasibility for this topic through the practice. At last we hope that the dragon and phoenix patterns would be applied to home textile design for wedding through the research on the theory and application of this attempt, and our Chinese culture would be better spread.
