Gas explosion is one of the most serious disasters that affect the safety of coal mine production in China, it is extremely easy to cause a large amount of personal casualty and property loss. With the increase of low concentration gas extraction volume in our country, there are serious security risks in the process of transport though long distance pipeline. Therefore it’s needed to grasp the variety rule of gas explosion propagation and to study the technology of explosion suppression, in order to control the hazard ranges of gas explosion. In this paper, using the method of theoretical analysis and experimental research, the Inhibition of gas explosion propagation trough the ABC powder fire extinguishing agent was studied systematically and deeply.A series of experiments were carried out in experimental explosion pipeline system of which the diameter was 500mm, the explosion flame and shock wave evolution characteristics were analyzed, the spatial relation between pressure wave and flame surface space in pipelines were discussed. The experimental results showed that the peak pressure and propagation distance showed a quadratic function relationship. The more distance to the explosion source point, the later the explosion peak pressure present. The arrival time of the flame and propagation distance was two polynomial variation, the average flame propagation velocity and the instantaneous flame propagation speed was accelerating with the increasing of flame propagation distance, the instantaneous propagation speed of the flame increased with the increasing of the propagation distance. With the spreading of time interval and space distance increasing, the pressure wave and flame surface was overlapping in the initial explosion.With the help of automatic spurting powder explosion suppression device, the study went on spreading series explosion experiment. The influence factors of the inhibition effect on gas explosion and explosion suppression, the effect of explosion suppression agent under the different surface density were analyzed, and the explosion flame and shock wave positive feedback mechanism was discussed. The experimental results showed that the minimum installation distance of the automatic suppression flame sensor explosive devices and the explosion suppressor was 20m. Under the same conditions, the decentralized layout of explosion suppressor was better than that of centralized. The effect of suppressant which was head-on was better than that was the vertical jet injection, the explosion suppression agent on the propagation of gas explosion suppression played a decisive role. Only the suppressant surface density was greater than the critical value, the flame can be completely suppressed sowing. The critical-plate density was 40.8kg/m2 in the study. The interception of ABC superfine powder extinguishing agent on explosion flame was more obvious than the attenuation effect of shock wave pressure, the maximum drop of the super pressure was 57.6%, the flame speed decreased highest at 100%.A large number of test datas and some regular conclusions in this paper were introduced as a theoretical basis for the installation position of suppression and isolation devices in the low concentration gas pipeline transportation of coal mine, which provided important reference datas and technical support for active explosion suppression technology, protective equipment development and engineering application.
