Diamond woodworking cutter in wood products processing is widely used, and with the wood products processing equipment, precision and automation degree unceasing enhancement showed a rising trend, diamond woodworking cutter in the use process, the wear condition monitoring and evaluation, in a great extent affected the wood products processing quality, efficiency and cost of production, its research has become focus of concern to the industry. Taking more common diamond circular saw blades for woodworking as the research object, based on the fractal theory of tool wear morphology and the change of the modal analysis, using fractal dimension characterization tool wear like the degree of the intrinsic link between the two, for tool wear degree evaluation to provide a new reference.Tool wear process is very complex, and its evaluation can be carried out from many angles. In the analysis of domestic and foreign about the tool wear and tool wear monitoring method based on the actual situation, to wear diamond circular saw blade production flooring manufacturer tracking tool, statistics of diamond circular saw blade wear mode analysis, the results show that the diamond circular saw blade flank wear and serrated breakage is the main wear form, it is also a main factor affecting the quality of the products, to provide a basis for the analysis is characterized by fractal theory research on tool wear degree; to direct measurement and indirect measurement methods of analysis and evaluation for the state of tool wear, the combination of fractal theory and the two methods respectively, using image processing technology and finite element analysis and Discussion on the wear morphology and natural vibration characteristics.Acquisition of diamond woodworking saw wear image information, to obtain the tooth flank wear morphology for image preprocessing and segmentation, including gray-scale processing, reduction processing, histogram equalization and threshold segmentation, image processing results show that the ideal threshold characteristics between 100 and 110 can be extracted from the image segmentation. The effective features for the calculation of fractal dimension, using the box dimension algorithm in fractal theory, analyze the fractal characteristics of the cutter cutter, calculate the box dimension, and to study the relationship between tool wear, regularity and box dimension. The results show that the tool wear will be caused by the change of the flank of the fractal dimension, and the degree of wear the greater the wear condition is more complex, the fractal dimension has an increasing trend.Establish finite element analysis model of cutter tooth and node displacement curve obtained by numerical modal analysis feature extraction as signal features, research before and after abrasion of the characteristic signal change characteristics and based on the fractal theory, of node displacement curves were box dimension calculation and analysis, establish and the tool wear state between the calibration curve, according to the characteristics of the changes to indicate the state of tool wear, the results of the study show that, tool wear after the node displacement curve fractal dimension increases.
