Melt-blown non-woven fabric is produced by the ultra-fined fibers self-adhered, which is made by the polymers stretched through the high-speed and high temperature air blowing. Now most of the melt-blown non-woven fabrics are made by polypropylene fibers which provide a relatively wide range of allocations. However, polypropylene’sbad hydrophilic greatly limits the melt-blown non-woven fabric used in some specific areas.In recent years, wet tissue, as a new hygiene commodity, is developing rapidly due to the increased productivity and demand market. However, most of the wipes used spun lace nonwoven fabric, but the softness and absorbency are still unsatisfactory. Melt-blown non-woven fabric with the features of low production costs, fluffy and soft hand feel is used as the base fabric of the wet tissue can not only remain the soft hand feel, but also retain a larger amount of water absorption and better water retention.Through the research and comparison for the V-type melt-blown non-woven fabric, this paper hopes to develop a better wipe to meet the requirements of the market.As the request of Shanghai Rosefinch Co., Ltd. The market needs a wipes with more soft and better absorption. Through the cooperation with Guangzhou Suntai Auto Interior Material Co., Ltd.This paper use a new V-type melt-blown non-woven fabric, which is produced by 65-75% of polypropylene fiber sand the balance of polyester staple fibers, which makes the V-type melt-blown non-woven fabric bulky and even. In this paper, firstly we tested the morphology and structure in different weight of V-type melt-blownnon-woven fabric, we found the 40g/m2 weight fabric has larger aperture, and better in absorption and wicking through pre experiment. And then analyzing and comparing the V-type melt-blown non-woven fabric’s water absorption and wicking mechanism with traditional melt-blown non-woven fabric. During the experiments, the hydrophilic addictive is used to treat the non-woven fabrics and then testing the abilities of water absorption and wicking under different concentration of the hydrophilic addictive and the treating time.Meanwhile, the abilities of water absorption in alcoholic solution for both melt-blown non-woven fabricsare also tested.The result obtained the V-type melt-blown non-woven has a better performance in wetting properties for water and alcoholic. At the same time, the testing for comparing and analyzing the wetting properties between thewipes in thebestselling market and the V-type melt-blown non-woven fabric are also conducted. We found the V-type wipe is also muchbetter than the chosen wipes. So it is possible to develop a better wipe based on the V-type melt-blown non-woven fabric. Through the bio-compatibility experiments provide the potentiality of the alication in wipes areas.At last, through analyzing the experimental results, we get an ideal wet tissue product, and provide a guiding significance for the future actual production.
