In order to reduce the overall costs and facilitate the management of coal bed methane wells, we need to change the drainage wells from vertical to directional. But doing in this way will increase the difficulty of drilling, and there is no experience to follow. Therefore, to explore the technology of the connectivity of the horizontal well and the directional well is a milestone. After reading a large number of domestic and international papers, this paper analysis the equipment, the technical difficulties and the key technology of this technology by the help of the connectivity experience of the horizontal well and the vertical well, Then, by comparing the difference of the two connectivity style, we sums up the difficulty of communicating the lateral well and the directional well. On this basis, we propose the key technology of the communication with directional wells. At the end, after analysis the characteristics of the connectivity of the lateral well and the directional well,we propose an integrated designing solution of the connectivity of the lateral well and the directional well and its supported drilling program. Analysis of practical feasible conclusion, provide the experience for the subsequent horizontal well and directional well connected construction.
