2524 aluminum alloy is Al-Cu-Mg series which has high strength heat-resistant aluminum alloy, it is based on 2024 aluminum alloy by reducing Fe, Si and so on.The alloy contains the content of impurity,developing into with fracture toughness, excellent fatigue resistance and anti stress of new-type heat-resisting aluminum alloy stress corrosion properties. 2524 aluminum alloy was developed in 1995. The alloy is a new kind of aircraft skin material, widely used in aircraft manufacturing.Firstly, this thesis made the research analysis of 2524 aluminum alloy sheet forming rolling, research on the effect of hot rolling process parameters on the microstructure and mechanical properties of 2524 aluminum alloy, then we studied the mechanical behavior of 2524 aluminum alloy, including optimization research and fatigue properties of heat treatment system research, thermal stability. Through metallographic microscope,hardness tester, tensile test, fatigue test machine and other detection equipment, draw the following conclusion:(1) According to the sheet forming of macroscopic observation to 400℃ hot rolling optimal, the entire plate is rarely cracking and cracking is located on the edges of plates.When the temperature gets 350℃,hot rolled plate cracking is more and more, and the crack extension sheet has the tendency to center. Seriously, cracks in 300℃ on hot rolled plate during rolling deformation amount reached 73%.If the temperature is lower than the hot rolling test 300℃,in the process of rolling prophase or metaphase serious fragmentation, test is not smooth.(2) For the 2524 aluminum alloy after rolling deformation, cast structure completely disappears, grains are refined, the alloy is elongated along the rolling direction of fine grain size scale, much more better. Many small second phase are distributed in grains,second phase at the grain boundaries is larger, Aligned along the hot rolling direction.(3) For 2524 aluminum alloy, after hot rolling in 400℃ and heating treatment by T6,the tensile strength is up to 485 MPa, elongation of 13.5%. Through comprehensive analysis, 2524 aluminum alloy hot rolling temperature is suitable for 400℃.(4)Through the comprehensive analysis on Microstructure and mechanical properties of 2524 aluminum alloy, the heat treatment system is suitable for 490℃/60min+190℃/22 h.(5) With the heat exposure temperature rising, 2524 aluminum alloy hardness becomes greater volatility; early declining during thermal exposure, the tensile strength tends to be stable after 100 h, while the elongation was constantly improving and tends tobe stable after 150 h.(6) 2524 aluminum alloy has good fatigue strength under 100MPa; Reasonable solution and aging treatment can improve the fatigue life of the alloy system; Heat exposure is conducive to enhance the fatigue properties of the alloy in a short time and the long time of heat exposure will reduce the fatigue life.
