Nowadays the oil resources become scarce, but the demand is increasing. It is necessary to find a substitute for fossil energy to solve the crisis. Ethanol has become a good alternative to oil for its many advantages in terms of combustion.There are many ways to synthesize ethanol, so it is importantly strategic and practical significance to make ethanol by syngas.CuZnAl catalyst prepared by the complete liquid phase technology is invented by our research group to synthesize methanol. We found the catalyst has higher ethanol selectivity, but its repeatability is poor.Therefore, much work has been done on CuZnAl catalysts by our research group. On the base of previous studies by our team, it is proposed to prepare CuZnTiSi catalyst in this article. At first, the influence of complete liquid phase technology, solvothermal method and roasting method on the structure and catalytic performance of CuZnTiSicatalysts were inspected. The results showed that the catalysts prepared by the complete liquid phase technology had high catalystic activity and ethanol selectivity, the catalysts prepared by solvothermal method had higher selectivity of ethanol. Besed on these studies above-mentioned, the influence of n(Ti)/n(Si) and La on the structure and catalystic performance of CuZnTiSi Catalysts prepared by the complete liquid phase technology were studied. At last, the influence of n(Cu)/n(Zn) and the surfactant OP-10 content on CuZn-TiSi catalysts which were prepared by solvothermal method were inspected. Catalysts were characterized by XRD, N2-adsorption, H2-TPR, NH3-TPD-MS, XPS, and the characterization data with the catalyst performance data were combined,the main research conclusions are listed as follows:1. The heat treatment of precursor has a direct influence on performance and structure of catalyst. The catalyst prepared by complete liquid phase technology has the capability of high CO hydrogenation and certain ethanol generation; The catalyst prepared by solvothermal method has high selectivity of ethanol, but its catalytic activity is relatively poor;The catalyst prepared by roasting method has the highest selectivity of methanol, almost has no ability of ethanol synthesis.2. n(Ti) / n(Si) directly affects the interaction between Cu species and carrier on the CuZnTiSi catalyst prepared by complete liquid phase technology. The addition of La can improve the dispersion of Cu,catalytic activity and selectivity of methanol, but the selectivily of ethanol reduce greatly.3. The CuZnTiSi catalysts are prepared by sovothermal method.Cu/Zn ratio has the function of adjusting the Cu phase crystal partical size and the surface acid amont, but it has no obvious influence on selectivity of ethanol and catalytic activity. The addition of the surfactant OP-10 can increase the selectivity of ethanol, but the catalytic activity decreased obviously.4. CuZnTiSi catalysts are prepared to catalyze CO hydrogenation reaction in slurry bed. When the selectivity of ethanol is high, the CO conversion is low and the selectivity of hydrocardon is higher, the Cu phase crystal particle size is usually larger.
