| The coal as an extremely important traditional energy plays a significant role in the current society. With the progress and development of science and technology, the manufacturers of coal mining machine need to develop a comprehensive product which can meet the market’s demands. As most of the coal cutter is lack of emotional needs design in product modeling and take less consideration of the man-machine interactive experience. The excellent design of coal cutter not only needs to meet the functional requirements, but also needs to consider the user’s aesthetic requirements, as well as the equipment’s safety, reliability and efficiency at the same time. During the design of coal cutter, we need to consider of the the users’ performance requirements, needs of humanity, product features and styling characteristics of physical characteristics and human-computer interaction which is the relationship established between man and mining machine. The gap between Chinese coal mining machinery manufacturing technology and the international advanced enterprises is gradually reducing, but there is still huge gap between the styling and hommization of the products. This article is based on these above backgrounds to research the series modeling design of the coal shearer product.At first, as the example of the international advanced coal machine, this paper has designed the product from its shape, style, color, material, performance, human-computer interaction and other aspects and these detailes also has been studied seriesly for mechanical structure and the operation of shearer products, and has put forward some opinions at the same time. Then,the paper has analyzed the future trends of the product design, studied the each region’s color preferences of different shapes, put forward several methods on shearer series design, and studied and analysed some corresponding cases. In the design of shearer, the paper has decided to adopt series design, modular design and interactive genetic algorithm on the study for the series product modeling design of coal winning machine. Through the series design and modular analysis for the coal winning machine, the paper has reasonable used the modular construction and choosed a suitable method for modular design of shearer. Then it has used the interactive genetic algorithm chromosome coding for the coal winning machine to calculate. Using of genetic evolution theory at the experiment has helped it to get the scientific data, which obtains siginificance for the product modeling design. Then the coal winning machine has been designed at the three dimensional modeling(3D modeling), which is used to verify the rationality of the above shearer scientific experiment design.
