Bio-fermentation industry occupies an important position in the national economy. Total sugar, as one of the important nutrients in the production of fermentation, has a significant impact on the growth of microorganisms. Currently, in the chlortetracycline fermentation process, detection of total sugar content of the fermentation tank online is not easy to achieve. Therefore, carrying out the automatic detection method research of chlortetracycline total sugar content in the fermentation process, as well as realizing automatic detection and control of the total sugar content of the fermentation tank has important theoretical significance and practical value.This paper presents a digital signal processor TMS320F2812 as the core of the total sugar automatic detection system. The automatic sampling and filtration of the broth, detection of the total sugar content, and the communication function between the controller and the host computer are analyzed. Based on refraction method and microwave method, the total sugar content detection method of the fermentation broth has been studied. In the peripheral circuit of the detection system, half-bridge topology DC-DC buck circuit is designed, which reduces the energy losses on the transformer and improves the conversion efficiency. Besides, by using DSP, its bipolar synchronous rectification can be achieved. The PCB design of the drive circuit has made components integration and reduced the size of the detection device. The software design of the detection system is modular, which is easy for modification and extension. Moreover, the influence of temperature on the measurement accuracy of the total sugar content is researched and the relevant detect errors have been corrected.The research on refractive method and microwave method of total sugar content detection system based on DSP in this paper has made a foundation for the automatic detection of chlortetracycline total sugar content in the fermentation tank. Experimental results show that the microwave method detection results of chlortetracycline total sugar content are unstable and influenced by many factors outside. While refractive method automatic detection results on the total sugar content of chlortetracycline are of higher precision and good stability, which also can meet the needs of the production process.
