People is the core in living environment which they are inseparable from. The collective living space, as a special live type, are currently prevalent in China. Throughout the contemporary Chinese collective living conditions, there are still great drawbacks, such as small personal disposable space, small self-transformation space, limiting the personality to play, to adversely affect collective occupants. The most prominent feature of collective living space is contradictory handling of personal space and collective space, while in China the main reason for the collective space and the basic characteristics of the mode are the relatively small space. In the collective living space, a variety of space occupants use the function is not perfect, to meet the psychological needs of residents had a greater collective lack. Accordingly, this article viewing from the perspective of environmental psychology, presented a comparative study of family living space and the school collective apartment, and investigated the lifestyle and psychological characteristics of this particular lifestyle group, to be targeted to solve the existing shortcomings in the current Universities dormitory modular furniture. Then we put forward the argument of this article for the purpose of building a more reasonable comfort and warm "home" for students living in University collective. Therein, we focused our exploration and research on how to use the convenience features of modular furniture to build more reasonable, more humane living space in the established space, and to improve the collective living environment.
