With the formal establishment of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank(AIIB),as the second largest country of producing oil and chemical products, China need to promote the petrochemical products to the international. However, to emerge from the competition with other countries, the following moves have to be conducted, such as improving the infrastructure efficiency, increasing the automation degree, and reducing cost as much as possible. At present,in petroleum refining industry and petrochemical industry, large spherical tanks are used for storage and transportation of liquid or gaseous materials widely, such as liquefied petroleum gas, liquid ammonia, oxygen,nitrogen. As a result, the strength and construction quality of the large spherical tank have been paid much attention to. And the post-weld thermal treatment of spherical tank is the key step to improve the quality of the spherical tank. The research work of this subject is mainly around the problems existed in the process of thermal treatment for large spherical tank, aiming to improve the computation efficiency and reduce the heat treatment temperature. On the basis of learning the domestic and foreign achievements,this paper proposes methods of conducting thermal calculation on the LabVIEW software platform and analyzing the temperature uniformity in the process of spherical tank heat treatment on the Fluent software platform.Analyze the present situation of domestic and foreign service condition of large spherical tank and completed spherical tank heat treatment system, and find out the deficiency of large completed spherical tank heat treatment system. In light of the cumbersome thermal calculation process in spherical tank heat treatment, a heatcalculation system of spherical tank heat treatment is designed. And in the 500000tons/year, propane dehydrogenation project, Hebei Haiwei transportation group co.,LTD, the thermal calculation system for large spherical tank heat treatment has been applied firstly and successfully in the propane burners selection work for spherical tank heat treatment. Conduct the inner flow field temperature simulation on Fluent software platform. Through comparing the heated situations of the spherical shell with or without diversion umbrella inside, and the simulation results of diversion umbrellas with different size, installation positions and angles in spherical tank, the best diversion umbrella installation position and size will be obtained. An aided design system of spherical tank heat treatment is designed by LabVIEW. Users through this software would see the simulation results of diversion umbrellas with different size, installation positions and angles in spherical tank of different specifications and then would select the proper diversion umbrella, to achieve the desired spherical tank uniform heat effect.
