This paper first in the innovation on the basis of gas-liquid cocurrent flow absorb’s column, we designed a new type of double-effect, gas-liquid cocurrent flow absorb’s column and improved the process. The new type absorb’s column achieved the process that the turbid liquid absorb the turbid gas in the first effect and the clean liquid absorb clean gas. We also improved the absorb and mass transfer component—stereoscopic and swirl cocurrent flow tray. Then using air and air-water as experimental research systems, respectively, we examined the dry and wet pressure drops of the new absorber column and the stereoscopic and swirl tray under different operating parameters and tray structural parameters. we used the dry tray pressure drops and wet tray pressure drops to associate with operating parameters and got the fitting correlation. We also initially established a theoretical model of the tray pressure drop. This paper is intended to determine the energy consumption of double-effect, gas-liquid cocurrent flow absorb’s column and stereoscopic and swirl cocurrent flow tray, to understand the influence of the operating parameters and tray structural parameters to pressure drops, to clear the range of operating parameters. It is provided experimental evidence and theoretical guidance for the subsequent mass transfer experiments and practical applications for future projects, and further optimize the design of equipment and processes.Studys have shown that: dry tray pressure drop and dry column pressure drop are mainly affected by the F factor. Single dry tray pressure drop is controlled at 70 Pa and dry empty column pressure drop is controlled at 1600 Pa. Wet tray pressure drop and wet column pressure drop are mainly affected by the F factor and every-effect actual sprinkle density La. The F factor influence degree is the largest. Single wet tray pressure drop is controlled at 180 Pa and wet empty column pressure drop is controlled at 1800 Pa. The more tray numbers N of installation, the more pressure drop of tray and column. The pressure drop of tray and column when trays reversely installed are lager then trays install in the same direction. In total, six trays are installed in the column, whereas the dry and wet pressure drops of the column are controlled within 2400 Pa and 2800 Pa respectively. This combination of the new absorber column and the improved tray gives significant advantages in operating flexibility and energy consumption.
