In the cold-rolled automatic gauge control of plate and strip, the mass flow of hydraulic automatic gauge control is considered an effective method to improve the accuracy of thickness control. Because it effectively overcomes the thickness measurement of time occurred during the big lag. But In the mass flow automatic gauge control of the actual application process, metal mass flow measurement is very difficult. Based on a practical engineering background, the paper developed a mass flow measurement system, principle and control mass flow automatic gauge control conducted in-depth research.In this paper, the automatic gauge control system of cold rolling mill in-depth study on the basis of the dynamic model of hydraulic position servo system and the thickness of the closed-loop system established. To simplify the complexity control method of the system during the process of control thickness, based on the frequency method of control theory and the actual condition, the hydraulic position servo system dynamic model has been simplified.In development of the flow measurement system, construction of the field programmable gate array(EP2C5T144C8) at the core of all hardware and software systems, detailed analysis of strip cold rolling process flow measurement based on the principle. All work completed included from the drawing PCB board to software programming base on hardware description language(Verilog HDL) in the Quartus II software platform. And in the laboratory to test the accuracy of quantitative mass flow measurement system simulation work environment, but also in lower mill site environment for live testing accuracy.Finally, the introduction in mass flow of the AGC system PID neural network controller and to carry out in-depth research, at the same time the dynamic control simulation in the MATLAB environment. Through a variety of environments simulation results show that the PID neural network was significantly better than conventional PID control in mass flow of hydraulic AGC.
