With the rapid development of China’s economy, the rapid increase in energy consumption, environmental problems and energy conservation problems become more and more prominent. Automobile lightweight is one of the ways to reduce fuel consumption, reduce exhaust emissions, improve the performance of the car, has been recognized by the national automobile manufacturers. As one of the key technologies to realize the lightweight of automobile, the stamping forming technology of tailor-welded blanks(TWBs) has been widely used in automobile body manufacture. TWBs and single plate stamping forming mechanism is different, TWBs in the forming process of wrinkling and cracking, drawing force control and the weld-line movement is to be in-depth study of the problem.These reasons lead to TWBs can not be widely used. In this paper, it is important to improve the mechanical properties of TWBs by studying the forming process of the conical parts of TWBs with typical axial symmetry.In this paper, the different thickness of the same material of the conical parts of TWBs as the research object, based on the forming mechanism of the conical part, the conical parts of TWBs in the primary deformation zone has been carried on the theoretical analysis, the analytical expressions of the strain and stress were obtained, and on the basis of this, the calculation formula of the maximum drawing force is obtained. Using orthogonal experimental method to study the influence of the blank holder force loading,punch and die fillet radius, board thick ratio as well as friction to the conical parts of TWBs, and find out the optimal combination by using the finite element simulation software DYNAFORM. The finite element software has been used to find a better way of blank holder force loading, which reduces the movement of the bottom weld and increases the depth of the limit in the case of not wrinkling and not cracking.Based on the simulation software to get the results and by changing the single variable,the effects of punch radius, die radius and thickness ratio on the forming of TWBs are studied by doing experiments.
