| Embroidery culture has 4000 years of history. It is one of the Chinese traditional classics and a miracle of Chinese folk art. As a ancient art with deep cultural deposits, it also satisfy the modern aesthetic demand. Comparing to other forms of art, embroidery works are a kind of luxury, beyond normal consumption levels. In order to further promote the embroidery culture, to make ordinary people have chance to appreciate its charm, the information technology and traditional embroidery skills are combined together for the information sharing of embroidery art, the digitized presentation of embroidery skills and the simulation of visual effect of embroidery product. Data base, motivation and image processing technology, etc are applied in the platform.In this article, we discussed the practicability and desirability of multimedia technologies applying to the embroidery area. Embroidery pattern presentation system contains two parts, where eleven columns are included in. The first part is about embroidery picture, include six columns: dragon and phoenix bringing prosperity; welfare and longevous as wishes; rich and peace; fame and fortune; fortune and fertility; festive and satisfactory. The second part is the bottom menu including five columns: basic stitch skill; Jigsaw; difference hunt; about us; quit. Though these button, picture, stitch skill teaching video and two games user can comprehensively understand the knowledge of embroidery pattern and stitch skill. This would greatly help to learn embroidery, such an extremely China style traditional culture.This thesis is aimed to combine the traditional hand embroidery art and modern i nformation technology, to develop and promote this kind of art. Three parts are including to explore and develop the combination of traditional embroidery art and modern digital art: 1) literature research; 2) theoretical analysis; 3)experience summary. Embroidery pattern presentation system was built to help integration of embroidery information and resources, and to supply technical support for information sharing. We also build the platform of embroidery skill simulation, to demonstrate the detailed processes and steps of different embroidery skills. |
