With the gradual popularization of embroidery CAD, requirements for which are becoming higher and higher, users need more precise tools to describe the contours of curve shape, more intelligent embroidery techniques to express pattern characteristic, as well as the more convenient management in the designs and patterns. However, most of the internationally popular embroidery CAD system have many limitations such as curve expression being not precise enough and can not well reflect the designer's intent; complex graphics needling also being flawed; the lack of effectively integrated management in images and embroidery patterns, all of which increase the difficulty of spreading and restrain the production efficiency. At present, some developed countries, governments and embroidery industry have been actively carrying out research on intelligence embroidery CAD.This paper performed study on curve model affecting embroidery pattern quality and complex graphics needling in the needle modules of embroidery CAD system for the purpose of resolving the current defects in embroidery CAD system, suitable for the specific needs of individuals; as well as some research on how to get effective management in embroidery images and patterns, the establish of traditional Chinese embroidery pattern database system was completed based on B/S structure according to system characteristics and user requirements, all of which are convenient for users in system operation, searching online and downloading original patterns. In this paper, the research results are as follows:(1) Embroidery CAD system architecture based on Web was designed which include modular structures of system, the main module and data structure design. Pattern database system's establishment is helpful to supplement and improvement to embroidery CAD.(2) The research focused on the traditional Chinese clothing pattern database creation based on embroidery CAD system, which enhanced embroidery images and patterns'management functions. The traditional Chinese embroidery patterns database systems based on the collection of a large number of text and.image data, analysis on the combination of modern database technology and using of object-oriented C# development tools bring breakthrough in data management from manual to the database and improve the efficiency of research on traditional Chinese embroidery patterns as a very important part of the computer embroidery CAD. It will be better in application prospects and provides an important direct information window for embroidery designers, researchers, users and high-volume production plants. The database systems have achieved good performance after the initial commissioning on the Windows platform.(3) On basis of deep analysis on cubic rational Bezier curve in embroidery CAD application and the requirements of individual users a way to construct Bezier curve was presented in accordance with its professional characteristics, which enables the user simply enter a series of points that can generate curves. The way to generate curves are well reflected on the outline embroidered structure of hollow stitching in following sections, which reach to embroidery CAD requirements for the curve and have better expression on the characteristic contour patterns.(4) Some research were done on needling order of hollow stitching based on the closed image region. It can be abstracted a graph theory problem and used an evaluation function under the embroidered rules to determine the node output sequence, finally proposed two graph traversal algorithms and the animation of embroidery process, the assessment on which is good.
