In recent years, scuba diving as an emerging sports for leisure and recreation, is in a stage of rapid development in China. Meanwhile it also promote the development of diving suit industry. Wet suit is a necessary equipment for underwater sports, and its function mainly has the following two points: one is the protection, two is keeping warm. Due to when divers doing sports underwater, the biggest problem they faced is cold, so the heat preservation property of wet suit is very important. As is well-known, the principle of heat preservation for wet suit mainly rely on it cling to the human body, to form the stagnant layer of warm water between skin and wet suit for keeping warm. So how to ensure the wet suit fit to human body on the premise that the comfort and flexibility of movement underwater is the main content for this article.By visiting the diving equipment factory and DRT Show, combined with the analysis of literature at home and abroad to know that the styles of wet suit not only meet the design requirements, but also should meet the comfort of human movement. In this paper, based on the measurable dimension of human body and combined the characteristics of body structure, adopting methods of the draping and the flat-plate making to set up a method of drawing no amount of loose pattern, and use the grey cloth to verify its fitness. The design of loose amount for wet suit, which mainly contains the loose amount for exercise, loose amount caused by the fabric thickness and the fabric elasticity. By analyzing the characteristics of the diving movement, we set up 8 kinds of experimental motions, adopt the method of stretched line to measure variable quantities of different parts of human body in the process of motion, and use which as the basis of loose amount design for exercise. The thicker the fabric is, the warmer the wet suit is. But the fabric thickness has a certain influence in structure design of diving suit. We can use the formula: X=2π(R+σ)-2πR=2πσ to calculate the required loose amount. When the design of elastic loose amount is small, the fabric stretch is bigger, it can produce an uncomfortable pressure to human body. But when the design isbig, it can’t reach the effect of fitness. So by measuring the clothing pressure value when the fabric in different elongation and different radius of curvature to study the relationship among the radius of curvature, fabric elongation and clothing pressure. Using the formula between clothing pressure and fabric elongation to calculate the fabric elongation in different parts of body, to get the fabric’s elastic loose amount. Through the style design of a coat wet suit and pattern modification to get the structure pattern of coat wet suit for women, then make a sample and try it on.In this paper, by literature, experimental and theoretical research to design a method of women’s wet suit structure pattern and finally carry it on in practice, prove that it has certain reliability and scientific. Based on the basic structure of women’s wet suit, providing a certain research foundation for the follow-up study of wet suit structure.
