Thickness of coal seam is a very important parameter in the process of production in coal mine, the changes will affect the mining plan, to increase the number of drivage roadway;Affect the production plan, reduce the rate of extraction.In addition, coal thickness affect the mining area of reasonable arrangement, in the proper selection of mining method, the accurate calculation of reserves, coal resources fully recycling, etc.So the coal thickness changes to guide coal mine production safety have important practical significance.Coal mine along the thick coal seam MWD technology can realize the measured value of the coal seam thickness is more close to the accurate values;And can fundamentally solve the successor question caused by the variation in thickness of coal seam mining work, greatly increase the drivage efficiency and recovery rate of coal seam, at the same time can also assist in mine coal and gas outburst hazard prediction and promote coal mine safety production, the important meaning to improve coal mine economic benefit.Coal seam thickness detection while drilling along the coal seam is based on measuring the bit position and two on the surface of the coal rock boundary distance and get it.Through to the commonly used rock interface measurement method is compared and summarized, choose three applicable to coal mine coal rock interface measurement: the borehole radar technology, seismic technology, acoustic measurement while drilling technology;Combined detection technology with drilling summarizes three with corresponding along coal seam thickness of MWD methods, respectively from the working condition, the measuring precision, signal-to-noise ratio and measuring method of the above three methods, this paper compares and analyzes that relative to the other two methods, borehole radar MWD method is more suitable for the coal mine the MWD of bedding drilling in the coal seam thickness.We use the borehole radar measurement method of coal thickness, the main hardware- borehole radar antenna design and simulation, it is concluded that the suitable for the coal mine MWD of main antenna parameters: the radius of the antenna is about 7.5 mm, antenna vibrator length is about 355 mm, is about 200 MHZ antenna center frequency.In order to get bit of space position, participated in the design of bit profile measurement module, and introduces in detail its working principle, data acquisition and processing.Finally, based on the GIS technology, design and development of the MWD system auxiliary software data processing, the drilling and coal thickness data real-time acquisition, processing, storage, analysis, and the display function.
