Belt conveyor is the key equipment of the coal mine transportation system, occupying an important position in coal production, once it has accidents, not only production effectiveness is affected, but a1 so endangers human’s safety. This paper analyzed the existing coal mine belt conveyor drive way, broke the traditional asynchronous motor with reducer and roller structure limitation, puts forward the directly drive mode which used the outer-rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor to drive the coal mine belt conveyor directly, so as to realize the high efficiency and energy saving mechanical and electrical integration of the zero transmission structure. Through the research and analysis of the control strategy for the permanent magnet synchronous motor, this paper decides to adopt the control scheme of the vector control and model-free adaptive combined,which work is mainly as follows:First this paper introduces the motor ontology and the development trend of the outer-rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor and the applications in coal mine belt transport planes. For this new type of outer-rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor, this paper sets up the mathematical model under the different coordinate systems, and which also gives the PWM vector control strategy. Secondly, according to the operation characteristics and requirements of the mine belt conveyor, this paper put forward an ideal ’ S’ starting curve and designed the model-free adaptive speed controller instead of traditional PID controller. It removes the hard work on the control system modeling, and also suppresses disturbance due to the load random changed.In order to improve the utilization of pseudo partial derivative and accelerate the response speed, the model free adaptive algorithm was improved and combined with sliding mode control, this new type of control algorithm also has the good speed control performance in the motor drive. Finally, it designs a set of speed control systems using outer-rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor as the direct-drive motor of belt conveyor, and gives the related hardware circuit diagram of the system, software control process and selection of major components.In order to verify the feasibility of the improved control algorithm and speed performance in permanent magnet synchronous motor drive control with model-free adaptive control algorithm. We constructed the modeling and simulated on MATLAB/ SIMULINK software platform, and compared with the traditional PID speed regulator. Simulation results show that the model-free data driven achieved tracking given curve successfully and the strong anti-interference characteristics;The improved control algorithm also got the good traceability and robustness in the simulation, which speeds up the corresponding system and shorten the adjusting time and verifies the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
