Industrial waste residue refers to the solid waste generated in the process of industrial production by the related enterprises, also known as the “misplaced resources”. For industrial solid waste, the massive storage not only occupy the precious land resources, but also cause serious pollution to water, soil and atmosphere, and threat to the ecological environment and human health, it has become a big public hazard of the society. But on the other hand, industrial waste residue is renewable resource reusable. Therefore, in this paper, coal gangue, red mud, tailings and waste glass as a representative of several kinds of industrial waste residue, have been carried on the related experimental research respectively, hoping to provide the experimental basis for the bulk of the development and utilization of associated waste residue.(1) Considering the different levels of ceramsite applicable scope, process flow, and the cost of production, the coal gangue is taken as raw material, under the appropriate experiment conditions, and after crushing, preheating, roasting, cooling and other steps, sintering the level 900 ceramsite which is of excellent performance and can be used in structure thermal insulation of concrete or high strength concrete, without adding other ingredients. Experiment shows that the effect of calcinations temperature on performance of sintering ceramsite is larger, but coal gangue homogenization treatment and carbon content are also two important factors affecting the quality of ceramsite;(2) By taking advantage of easy fermentation of organic matter such as weeds as modified material, red mud is improved to alkaline of neutralization test; and through two-year Kentucky bluegrass plants growing test, the improvement effect is very obvious, thus providing an effective simple way for low-cost, mass consumption of red mud;(3) Using red mud as the main raw material, adding rice bran as a pore-forming agent, preparing of the 300 and 400 light ceramic, by grinding, mixing, granulation, into a ball and other steps, at a certain temperature roasting. But without the neutralization process of red mud ceramsite can appear “whiskering” phenomenon, it can not be directly used for structural concrete. However after dealing with the neutralization of red mud gain ceramsite, it will not appear “whiskering” problems, thereby improving the range of applications of red mud ceramsite;(4) In view of the present situation that low utilization rate of tailings in China, carrying out a full tailing paste gravity backfill test. The results show that the slurry concentration is about 70 percent, and quality ratio is cement: fly ash: full tailings=1:2:6, by introducing the physical foaming agent, thus the filling paste is realized which can meet the requirements of the mine filling and the strength is about 1.0MPa;(5) Waste glass as the main raw material, adding the right amount of foaming agent, flux and stabilizer additive etc., and using the firing system of “preheating –foaming–stabilizing–annealing”, developing the foamed glass products with small density, high compressive strength, low coefficient of heat conductivity. It provides experimental evidence for the foamed glass of fire protection, thermal insulation, sound-absorbing, absorbing and other civilian and military related applications in the special building structures.
