A Research On The Designing Enlightenment From SU-Style Furniture To Modern Family-library Furniture

China, with thousands of year’s splendid historical culture and all-age national spirits, is one of the world’s major ancient civilizations. Chinese culture need to be inheritance, the study hope that through the furniture research, systems understanding of traditional Chinese culture. Traditional Chinese furniture design ideas and elements used in modern design, with Chinese style furniture design, we can better understand and profound traditional culture, heritage and development of Chinese furniture.Since Su-style furniture is the essential representative of Chinese traditional furniture, it contains the enormous cultural connotations and scientific spirits. Firstly, the dissertation explores the effects and enlightenments originated from Su-Style furniture on the design of modern study furniture from the perspective of cultural heritage. Secondly, the deep analysis is conducted on the cultural background of Su-style study and connotations of furniture, which demonstrates the aesthetic value and humanistic spirits plainly to realize the innovation of idea. Thirdly, the variations of modern living patterns and users group’s psychological state are analyzed through absorbing the era information. The designing direction of modern study furniture shows the era characters during the heritage of furniture.Two main routes are contained in the dissertation: the first route illustrates the origin and developing process of Su-style furniture as well as the development of the study furniture with systemic thoughts and analyses. Meanwhile, with absorption of the benefits of Su-style furniture, it also explores the perfect combination between modern study furniture and Su-style’s, which reserves the visional character of traditional pictures—Yuyuan,and fulfills the current needs of daily life. Therefore, the design of furniture includes both inheritance and creativity of era. The second route conducts the systemic researches on study furniture’s forms, materials, colors, structure, manufacturing technique and human factors engineering after the exploration of study furniture in modern market. At the same time, with introducing the culture of human behavior and the emotional experience of furniture, the design of modern study furniture keeps pace with the time and sustains the innovation. Finally, the research is proved by practical inference of modern study furniture based on the analyses of the combination of materials.
