| The efficiency of carbon technology is efficiency index that evaluate the economic activity of a certain area and to consider the efficiency of environmental factors. This paper applies Environmental RAM model to measure carbon technical efficiency and sources of inefficiency(The difference between the carbon technology efficiency and the value of 1) of 30 provinces(autonomous regions and municipalities) in China over the period 2008 to 2014. The results show that: carbon technical efficiency showing the geographical differences over the period 2008 to 2014,the eastern region that the level of economic development is high, the coastal areas, the central and western Regions that agriculture and third industry is the main production have the highest carbon technology efficiency, the provinces that energy production and consumption is big in the central region with low technical efficiency; Carbon technical efficiency also showed obvious time change trend; before 2013, the carbon technology efficiency has great fluctuation, and after 2013, the carbon technical efficiency value showing a steady trend; after decompose the carbon technology efficiency’s inefficiency found that: in the investment inefficiency, energy inefficient and labor inefficient occupies most of proportion; in output inefficiency, good output does not exist invalid rate, carbon dioxide emission efficiency is the source of all output inefficiency; in total inefficiency, source of there are more than half of the provinces’ source of inefficiency is carbon dioxide emission inefficiency; the level of new urbanization and carbon technology efficiency is highly related, the level of industrialization and per capita GDP is negatively related to the carbon technology efficiency. |
