Cold-warm combined extrusion process as an advanced technology can not only reduce production costs, improve the strength of the product, but also widely used, especially in key parts of machinery and automobiles. In recent years, with the new material and performance requirements of parts has increased, the development of cold-worm combined extrusion technology is extremely fast. The aim of this article is to improve the actual production quality of the long axis housing, studied the cold-warm extrusion process design, warm forging die design, numerical simulation of warm forging, die wear research and optimization design of cold-finishing and forging streamline of the parts. The results have important theoretical significance for the actual production, and provide a theoretical basis and practical guidance for cold-warm extrusion of the design and pre-formed optimization of constant velocity joints parts. The main contents of this article are as follows:Based on the characteristics of the long axis housing and comparing traditional cold extrusion process, the cold-warm combined extrusion process of the long axis housing has been designed and optimized, the warm extrusion process of forward extrusion adds the first diameter reducing extrusion, upsetting, backward extrusion, and the cold extrusion process of the second diameter reducing extrusion, cold-finishing. The billets and dies map of warm extrusion has been designed.Based on the thermal-mechanical coupled numerical analysis theory and used the Deform-3D software. The article analyzed the metal flow rules of forward extrusion, and the influence of billet initial temperature, the forming velocity, and friction coefficient on the warm extrusion forming stress and strain field distribution has been analyzed. The article also analyzed the influence of the forging parameters on wear depth and distribution of die, obtains set of the least technological parameters of die wear.Contrapose the bad forming result of cold-finishing, get the best combination of parameters by optimizing the cold-finish parameters. Contrapose forging streamline problem of the long axis housing, forming process plan was optimized, found that the simulation optimization design and the practical production improvements of the metal streamline were matched, the correctness of the optimization scheme were proved.Verify the process of this article designed by actual small quantities production and compared with the simulation results. It shows that the DEFORM software can accurately predict the flow of the metal forming and predict the forming defect. It also can save development time of cold-warm extrusion process and improve the rationality and accuracy of process development.
