Superhard materials was widely used in CNC tool by the high hardness, excellent wear properties and impact resistance.Compared with the traditional CNC tool, it has a longer life,better surface finish quality.With the continuous development of superhard materials and applications expand, Superhard cutting tool has become the most important cutting tools in high-speed cutting, precision and ultra-precision machining field.The welding quality is related to the entire production cycle and cost of superhard cutting tool welding.it is lack a scientific effective evaluation method and evaluation standard for super-hard tool Welding process, quality control and quality evaluation. Based on superhard cutting tool welding test and use finite element analysis software to simulate the welding process of superhard cutting tool, and System analysis the superhard cutting tools welding quality influence factors and the key indicators of quality evaluation. The main achievements and contributions:1) System analysis the welding quality evaluation indicators and assessment method of superhard tool, Proposed the welding quality control method and test specification which is base on the thermal residual stress.To provide reference for the further development of super-hard tool welding quality control and reliability control standards;2) Based on nonlinear transient thermal analysis simulation method, and reveals superhard tool temperature transfer mechanism and temperature distribution, residual thermal stress formation process and distribution. On the basis of qualitative analysis of the impact of residual thermal stress factors, key quantitative analysis the main factors which is include temperature, welding structural factors(bead width, thickness ratio), etc.3) Analyzed the superhard cutting tools brazing material, welding process parameters and post-treatment methods on the quality of the welding, and the residual thermal stress was research tested after butt welding superhard cutting tool,established superhard cutting tool residual thermal stress testing system and evaluation method.4) Using all experimental methods to analyze the welding residual thermal stress sizeand its regularity of the commonly used PDC and PCBN super-hard cutting tools.Comparing with the results and finite element calculation,The finite element model of superhard cutting tool optimization scheme is proposed by the basis of analyze the error and its causes, and provides reference for other superhard cutting tool structure further simulation study.This paper is a significant part of the major national science and technology special fund(2013ZX04009031). This research provides an important reference to Superhard cutting tool product design, process optimization and cutting use, and rich the Superhard cutting tools brazing process and quality control theory system, And provided a comprehensive, systematic basis for control welding quality and cutting applications of superhard tools.
